EARN EXTRA MONEY THIS WEEK!

Are you looking to go on a missions trip soon?  Or maybe someone at your church is raising money so they can go on a missions trip.  What about that friend or neighbor who has had a hard time lately and could just use a night out?

You might not have a lot of disposable cash to do the things that you really wish you could. Helping someone go out on a missions trip could change his/her life and the lives of SO many more people in the future.  Or just to give a widow who is living on Social Security a night out would make her month.

Here are a few ways to make some extra $$$$ so that you are able to give more to those in need.  Or maybe just to pay off some of your debt if that is what God has on your heart.

1. Have a Yard sale.  If you are like most of us, you have things laying around the house that are just collecting dust.  Those things may be just junk to you but could be gold for someone else.  Yard sales can bring in as much as a few hundred dollars or more for a weekend of work.  They say "If you haven't used an item in at least 6 months to get rid of it."

2. Sell your stuff on eBay.  My wife and I just started doing eBay this year.  Although I had purchased a couple of things over of the years from eBay, I never sold anything.  Well I told my wife that the Year 2005 was the year of "DE-CLUTTER" in our house.  We didn't do it all in one weekend but we gathered some things together over time and began selling them on eBay.  I must say that if you are able to read instructions, it really isn't that hard to sell on eBay.  I put my wife in charge of putting the items on eBay and she was very surprised on how easy it was.  We started with her old College Textbooks. Although it has been years since she used the books ,some still had good value.  We ended up making about $80 after our expenses (postage, eBay fees etc..).  It may seem like a lot of work but it didn't take that long to post the books.  So we de-cluttered plus put some money back into our pockets.   Since then we have sold other things laying around the house and are making some great extra money.   Remember, don't clutter your life with just STUFF.  It's God's money; use it well. We ALL have been guilty of just getting STUFF.  Well, now get rid of the STUFF and use the money for good causes.

3. This 3rd idea is a combination of both 1&2.  Go to Yard sales, purchase things, and then resell them on eBay.  Hundreds, if not thousands, of people make good part time income doing just that.  Actually my wife and I have gone out twice to Yard sales on Saturday mornings over the last month and found great bargains.   One of our first stops was a yard sale that had Completed Lego Sets (These were high-end school robotic type sets). The sets looked interesting; however, I had no idea how much they were worth. The lady selling them said she used to be a rep. for Lego and had about 8 sets at the yard sale.  I made a mental note of what the names of the sets were.  We then went back home quickly (the yard sale happened to be about a mile from our home) and we looked up the items on eBay. We couldn't find a lot of information but one of the sets was selling for over $100.   She was asking just $25 for 2 of the sets and $10 for the other sets.  Well, to make a long story short, we ended up getting 5 sets for $80 from the lady.    I did some leg work over the next week or two making sure the sets were complete etc...   All told, I spent probably 5 hours maximum on counting the sets, taking pictures, posting on eBay etc.   Well we ended up selling those 5 sets on eBay for over $400!!!  It was a $300+ profit in just a few hours.    Now of course I wish everyone would have those sets at Yard sales but that isn't going to happen.  My point is to find your niche in something you enjoy collecting or know something about and you too can go to Yard Sales and resell on eBay and make money.

About 2 weeks later we went out on a Saturday Morning and I picked up a weight loss program that is advertised on TV for $150. The set was brand new and most of the information was still wrapped.  The lady had $25 on the box and I would have purchased it for that price that but before I could get my wallet out, she said "I will sell it for $10."  So of course I bought it.  On eBay this set SOLD FOR about $80.   My point is that there are deals out there in ALL areas of the country.  Just put a little time and research into it.  If you can spare a few hours on a Saturday morning ,it's FUN and can be very profitable time.

Here are just a couple of examples of things we have found at yard sales the purchase price and our ebay sale price.  (We also make a little bit on shipping and handling as well which isn't included in these figures.)

1. Lego Robolabs    Purchased $80 for multiply sets     Sold for $450    ($370 profit.)
2. 6 week weight loss program Purchased $10             Sold for $80   ($70 Profit.)
3.  Speak & Read, Speak & Math  Purchased $1           Sold for $16   ($15 Profit.)
4.  Tony Little 3 VHS tapes Sealed  Purchased .75          Sold for $16.50  ($15.75 profit)
5.  Oreck XL canister Vac               Purchased $10          Sold for $16      ($6 Profit)

That is just a few of the things we profited on by going to Garage sales and selling them on Ebay.   We have also purchased things and resold them to family (not for profit) such as a Razor Scooter, Xbox, Oreck upright, etc...

No you won't make full time income out of it.   But if you do it right you can make a decent part time income.  That after expenses can earn just as much as taking a part time job etc..  Find your own niche and go shopping.
