Where to Give???

Here are a list of places you can give.

Of course there are Thousands of Christian Organizations to give to!

This charity is run by Franklin Graham (Billy Graham's son).  They have an awesome ministry, "Operation Christmas Child," where you can donate a shoe box of toys etc . And they will deliver your box to children in need all over the world.  In 2003 they collected and delivered over 6,600,000 Shoe boxes filled with gifts. Probably for some of the children who received them, it was the only gift they have ever received.   It is a great ministry in which your whole family, including your children, can participate in.
(They have other ministries besides just the "Operation Christmas Child")

This I believe is a new charity actually started by some of the guys in the Christian singing group, Jars of Clay.  They want to raise enough money to build 1000 water wells.  In Africa (and other parts of the world for that matter), having unclean drinking water is one of leading causes of death and disease.   And people need to walk for sometimes miles to get their water for the day.   One of the amazing stats I found on their website is that $1 = clean water for 1 African for 1 year! READ THAT AGAIN!
Think about that.  $1 is enough CLEAN WATER for 1 person for an entire YEAR!
My wife and I actually buy bottled water and probably spend $25 a MONTH on a water.  That is enough for 25 people to have clean water for the entire YEAR!!

Water is Life, just as Jesus said to the Woman at the Well. (John 4:13-14 NIV  "Jesus answered, Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.")

It would be great to give people clean drinking water so they can live and also present them with Jesus Christ so they can live eternally.

Next time you brush your teeth, think of putting your toothbrush in the toilet first before you put it in your mouth.   That is basically what millions of people drink every day!

Of course giving money to your church or local ministries is a great way to give as well.  We should want to give all we can to support and help build God's Kingdom. I Know I need to give more myself.

One site you may want to check out if you are considering giving to a national charity is Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability at this website http://www.ecfa.org
They list many charities and give financial statements of the charities so you know how much of every $ you give is actually going to missions.

God is the owner of all things.  (Psalms 24:1 The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.)
